Synopsis:

As the only food rescue organization in the region, Cultivate Food Rescue is rapidly growing and expanding its physical presence in northern Indiana. Our country wastes 40% of our food resources, while 35 million people face food insecurity, many of them children. Cultivate offers a unique solution to these challenges through perishable food rescue and redistribution. Through a dense network of partnerships with local pantries, soup kitchens, schools, hospitals, and other agencies, Cultivate has redistributed over 6.5 million pounds of food to the community. Cultivate also provides 1,300 food-insecure students with nutritious frozen meals each weekend. With the addition of a 22,000 square foot cold storage facility and a second volunteer location, Cultivate hopes to grow to rescue over 20 million pounds of food annually in the coming years.
