Our speakers will be:
Dr. Michelle Migliore, DO, Health Officer for St Joseph County Department of Health. She will give a brief introduction on the current St. Joseph County DOH and introduce our speakers.
Ashley Helman, BS, RN, Director of Nursing. She will share information regarding vaccination rate for children under 3 in St Joseph County, and ways everyday citizens can have better impact on these outcomes. She is also excited to present our Community Partnership Program, which in its first year has supported almost 300 hours of regained class time for students. This program is possible only due to the generosity of our community, and that includes you!
Chaquisha Jordan, RN, CPST, Maternal Infant Health Coordinator. She will be discussing our EMBER (Empowering Moms & Babies through Education & Resilience) program.
Micaela Enright, MPH, Disease Investigation Specialist/Lead Program Coordinator. She will present about our lead program: lead initiatives, regulatory requirements, clinical and property programming, education of health care practitioners, and case management.
Jessica Dilling, BA, Environmental Health Specialist. She will present about all things radon. She will also have the opportunity to offer partnerships with clinical sites to distribute radon test kits.
Speakers’ Bios:
Michelle Migliore has been the Health Officer since 2024 and is a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician in St Joseph County since 1988. She graduated from Manchester University with a MS in Biochemistry and received her medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She loves learning, and feels fortunate to learn something new every day. She enjoys baking, sewing, roller skating, and college football/basketball.
Ashley Helman is the Director of Nursing with more than 20 years of experience in public health. She received her BNS from Indiana University Bloomington. An unwavering optimist, she believes in the power of connection, community, and education to drive meaningful change and community engagement. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her four children, biking, and cross-stitching.
Chaquisha Jordan is the MIH Coordinator. She guides EMBER’s welcoming, evidence-based classes for pregnant and postpartum families and directs a non-clinical OB case management program focused on care coordination, education, and social-needs navigation from pregnancy through 18 months postpartum. She loves learning new things and is working toward completing her BSN. In her “free” time, she loves chasing around her 3 boys and diving into a good book.
Micaela Enright is the Lead Program Coordinator. As the lead coordinator, she oversees the lead program and collaborates with her colleagues in our Nursing, Environmental, and CARE units to improve access to testing, and provide education and outreach to our community to identify and prevent childhood lead poisoning. Micaela graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a BS in Molecular and cellular Biology and a Masters degree in Public Health and Epidemiology. From Indiana University Bloomington.
Jessica Dilling is an Environmental Health Specialist who has been with the Department of Health for over six years. She is a former educator, avid reader, and lifelong learner.
